The European Network for Cancer Research in Children and Adolescents (ENCCA) is an FP7 network of excellence comprising 33 high-level European research institutes and organisations recognised for their excellence in paediatric oncology and dedication to improving the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from cancer. This network aims for the first time to integrate all stakeholders involved in the paediatric oncology field in an effort to facilitate access to therapies and standards of care across Europe, and reduce the existing gaps and limitations in paediatric oncology.

The currently existing informal paediatric and adolescent oncology clinical trial groups will collaborate to create a European Clinical Research Council (ECRC) and link  with all professionals in the field as well as parent and patient groups to  ultimately create a sustainable “European Virtual Institute” for clinical and translational research in childhood and adolescent cancers. Along with other partners, SIOPE is in charge of communication and dissemination activities as well as management and facilitation activities.
