SIOP EUROPE: Building a brighter future for children and adolescents with cancer
Cancer in young people is rare but it is still a major health issue in Europe.
With 35 000 new cases and 6 000 children dying each year, paediatric cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease for children and young people.
SIOP Europe is the only pan-European organisation representing all professions (doctors, scientists, researchers, etc.) working in the field of childhood cancers. Our mission is to ensure a brighter future for all children and young people affected by cancer in Europe. We are striving to reach two goals by the year 2025: to increase the cure rate and the quality of cure for children and adolescents with cancer.
Why run with SIOP Europe? Because every kilometre you run counts in the field of childhood cancer. Join us on Sunday 30 September 2018 at the FINTRO Mechelen 10K Run (Fintro Dwars door Mechelen).
Working together to build a brighter future for children and adolescents…
We will not stop when we are tired!
We will stop when we are done!
Thank you for creating a brighter future for children and adolescents with cancer. On 30 September, please come to SIOP Europe booth to collect your race number. All participants running with SIOP Europe team will receive a free t-shirt and will be able to run together as a group to raise awareness about childhood cancer.
Not able to join the run? You can still make a small donation to help raise awareness about paediatric cancers in Europe.

Race number pick up
Runners registered via a group (i.e. SIOP Europe running group) cannot personally pick up their race number but must instead contact the group leader. Registered group participants will receive confirmation by email and will be invited to pick up their race number at SIOP Europe booth (exact location will be specified in the email).
Timing with chip
The 10k and 5k participants will run with an electronic chip. This electronic chip, glued to the back of the race number, measures the real time between the start and the finish line. This means that your time begins at the moment you cross the start line, enabling an accurate time recording.
The microchip is included in the registration fee. Please do not fold the race number or remove the stickers from the chip.
Accessibility & parking
Free parking is available at the Sportpark De Nekker car park. Please note that this car park will be temporarily closed around 14:30pm (starting time for 5 km race).
